Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Baltimore, Maryland
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (18:50 - 07:20)
Hours per Week: 36

Job Description

• Labor & Delivery RN position with ASAP start and assignment through 7/28.
• Float responsibilities include mother/baby and scrub roles.
• Call required: 2 shifts per 6-week schedule.
• Every other weekend required.
• Preferred experience with Cerner electronic health record system.
• Charge nurse experience preferred.
• Scrub experience preferred.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse license in Maryland.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience, with recent experience within the last year.
• Completion of at least one prior travel nursing assignment.
• Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
• Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) certification.
• STABLE (SPT) certification.
• Experience in charge nurse roles.
• Experience with float assignments, including mother/baby and scrub roles.

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Valid Registered Nurse license verification prior to start.
• Two positive supervisory references supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years.
• Complete 7 years of work history with no gaps, including education, employment, license, and contact information.
• Criminal background check within 90 days of start covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in the past 7 years.
• Drug screen within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana), including multiple specified substances.
• Annual physical exam confirming ability to perform work without accommodations and free from communicable disease.
• Immunization and health requirements:

  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (with additional requirements if history of TB)
  • Documentation of MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccines or positive titers
  • Hepatitis B titer, series, or signed declination
  • Varicella vaccine or positive titer
  • Tdap vaccine within 10 years preferred
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (09/23 - 03/31)
• N95 Fit Test within 9 months of start, updated annually (client may complete onsite if needed).
• Completion of facility-specific orientation modules prior to start.
• Annual competency exams including medication/pharmacology and EKG/dysrhythmia competency (with specific passing criteria).
• I9/E-Verify attestation required for all candidates.

Additional Notes

• A valid driver’s license is required if driving on behalf of the employer is an essential job function.
• Candidates must be prepared for float assignments and call shifts as described.
• This position requires strong clinical skills in Labor & Delivery with flexibility to cover mother/baby and scrub roles.
• Prior travel nursing experience is mandatory.
