Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Clarksdale, Mississippi
Shift: Nights, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Contract Length: 13 weeks (open to 8, 10, or 13 weeks)
Hours per Week: 36
Job Overview
- Provide comprehensive care to mothers and newborns throughout labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum in a combined Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum (LDRP) unit.
- Manage continuous fetal monitoring and assist with vaginal and cesarean deliveries.
- Deliver immediate newborn care, support breastfeeding, and provide patient education.
- Handle antepartum admissions, post-delivery recovery, and newborn nursery assessments.
- Collaborate closely with OB providers, anesthesia, lactation consultants, and support staff.
- Complete accurate documentation, discharge teaching, and patient follow-up education.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Mississippi.
- Minimum of 1 year experience in Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) within the last year.
- Labor and Delivery experience.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).

Orientation and Support
- Clear orientation and preceptor guidance provided for unit protocols, EMR systems, and workflows.
- Patient ratios, unit expectations, and available resources clarified upfront.
Opportunities
- Contract extensions common based on unit needs and nurse performance.
- Potential for permanent role conversion after assignment completion.
- Ongoing training available in advanced fetal monitoring, high-risk antepartum care, LDRP procedures, and newborn resuscitation.
