Job Opportunity: CVOR Tech

Location: Loveland, Colorado
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Position Details

  • Specialty: Surgical Services (Cardiovascular Operating Room)
  • Shifts:
    • Option 1: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (06:30 - 19:00)
    • Option 2: 4 shifts per week, 10 hours each (06:30 - 17:00)
  • Call Requirement:
    • 1 night per week
    • 1 weekend per month (Friday 17:00 to Monday 06:00)
  • Weekend Requirement: Yes, as needed by the unit
  • Number of OR rooms: 12
  • Charting system: Epic
  • Staffing ratio: 1-2 RNs and 1 Surgical Tech per room
  • No floating between units required

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of Cardiovascular OR (CVOR) experience
  • Current Colorado state license for Surgical Tech (can be pending at time of application with proof)
  • Certifications:
    • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS)
    • National Surgical Tech Certification (NBSTSA) or equivalent required for Surgical Techs
  • Must provide:
    • Clear copies of Driver’s License/State ID (front and back)
    • Proof of name change if applicable
  • Background checks and verifications required within 60 days of start, including:
    • 7-year background check
    • Education verification (accredited nursing or allied health schools)
    • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
  • Health and safety requirements:
    • Physical exam within 1 year, signed by MD, DO, NP, or PA
    • Fit mask test within 12 months (3M 1860S, 1860R, or 1870/1870+ masks)
    • Immunizations/vaccinations or titers for:
      • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years or declination)
      • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR)
      • Hepatitis B
      • Varicella
      • COVID-19 vaccine or signed declination
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
    • Drug testing within 30 days of start and annually thereafter
    • Color blindness testing (Ishihara exam required prior to start)
  • Competency exams required within 1 year and updated annually, including:
    • Medication/Pharmacology competency
    • Core Part I, II, III exams
    • OSHA mandatory training
  • References:
    • Two professional references from the last two years, including one from the last year
    • References must be from Charge RN, Manager, Supervisor, or higher

Additional Information

  • This role supports dual call teams on weekends for cardiac and vascular cases and assists with onboarding two new surgeons.
  • Candidates living within 75 miles of the facility are considered local.
  • Employment application and work history verification covering the last 3 years are required, with explanations for any gaps over 30 days.
  • Facility-specific orientation modules must be completed within the first two weeks of assignment.
