Description

Registered Nurse – Telemetry

Location: Nampa, Idaho
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights (7 PM – 7 AM)
Hours per Day: 12 hours
Hours per Week: 36 hours


Unit Details

  • Unit Type: Telemetry
  • Number of Beds: 24
  • Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:4
  • Patient Types: Heart Failure, COPD, Sepsis, Atrial Fibrillation (AFIB), Pneumonia (PNA), Stroke, detox, suicidal holds
  • Care Model: Team nursing with charge nurse and lead RNs; travelers may serve as leads if experienced
  • Floating: May float to MedSurg unit locally or to Telemetry units in nearby cities

Required Certifications & Skills

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
  • Minimum 1 year of nursing experience in specialty
  • First-time travel nurses are welcome
  • Must be a good team player

Clinical Information

  • No requirement for RNs to titrate drips
  • Common set-rate drips: Diltiazem, Heparin, Amiodarone, Lidocaine
  • Respiratory equipment used: CPAP, BiPAP (patients on BiPAP >4 hours transfer to ICU), High Flow oxygen
  • Telemetry monitoring: Tele/Monitor Techs available; RNs sign off on strips (SpaceLabs system)
  • Charge nurse and administrative supervisor present 24/7
  • CNAs available with a ratio of 1:8; typically 3 CNAs on full unit

Orientation & Scheduling

  • Unit-specific orientation: 1-2 days
  • Shifts scheduled by unit scheduler; can be blocked or grouped
  • Weekend shifts: rotation as needed, generally every other weekend
  • Holiday shifts: as needed
  • No call or standby requirements
  • Dress code: Any clean, professional scrub color

Additional Notes

  • Facility enforces a 50-mile radius rule for candidates’ permanent address
  • Team nursing model supports workload sharing and assistance among RNs
  • Travelers may have opportunities to work as lead RNs if experienced

This position is ideal for RNs with telemetry experience seeking a 13-week travel assignment on a night shift with a supportive team environment.
