Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical (Travel/Contract)

Location: Saint Maries, Idaho
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Hours per Week: 36

Job Description

• Float between Medical Surgical and Emergency Room (ER) units.
• Provide nursing care during night shifts.

Housing

• On-campus housing available across the street from the hospital.
• Semi-furnished 3-bedroom, 1-bath unit with washer/dryer and dishes.
• No TV provided.
• Housing requires a deposit and monthly fee (details not included here).

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Idaho.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• Minimum of 1 year of Medical Surgical nursing experience within the last year.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.

Background and Compliance Requirements

• Unexpired government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID).
• Background check within 1 year including SS Trace, County searches (7 years), Nationwide, and Sex Offender registry.
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required upon hire.
• Primary source verification of state nursing license (NURSYS verification).
• National certification verification as applicable.
• Signed acknowledgment of Orientation Safety Manual (updated annually).

Health and Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within the last 12 months.
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within the last year; TB questionnaire renewed annually.
• Immunizations or positive titers for:

  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (positive titer within a year or declination/booster)
  • Varicella (2 vaccines, titer, or history of chickenpox)
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved declination (timeline subject to change).
• Complete COVID-19 vaccination series or accepted declination.
• 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (instant acceptable).

Competencies

• Medication test/pharmacology competency exam as applicable.
• Competency exam relevant to profession and specialty.
