Description

Job Opportunity: CT Tech

Location: Charlottesville, Virginia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day (4x10 hours), Wednesday through Saturday, 8:30 AM – 7:00 PM
Hours per Week: 40 hours
Call: No call required
Travel Radius: 50 mile radius rule applies
Return to Office (RTO): Up to 40 hours approved


Job Description

  • Work schedule consists of four 10-hour shifts per week (Wednesday to Saturday).
  • No on-call responsibilities.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid CT Technologist license in Virginia.
  • Minimum of 1 year of CT Technologist experience, with experience within the last year.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
  • ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification.

Background and Compliance Requirements

  • 7-year criminal background check within 60 days of start, updated annually; must cover all locations lived/worked in past 7 years.
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated every 30 days.
  • Education verification through a third-party vendor; official transcripts acceptable, photocopies of diplomas are not.
  • Fingerprinting (Virginia State Police) required for certain units (Behavioral Health, Unit 5 East, Home Health); results must be received prior to start.
  • Child Abuse and Neglect Central Registry check required only for Behavioral Health and Unit 5 East candidates, processed within 45 days prior to start.

Certifications and Competencies

  • BLS required for all candidates.
  • ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC, NIH Stroke Certification, and Chemotherapy certification may be required or preferred depending on unit and specialty.
  • Pass/Fail cardiac rhythm assessment required during orientation for adult inpatient RN positions and Mother-Baby units (not applicable for CT Tech).
  • Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification required only for Behavioral Health nurses (not applicable here).
  • Medication and competency exams as applicable.

Health and Immunization Requirements

  • Physical exam within 12 months prior to start attesting ability to meet physical demands of the position.
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccination required (Tdap after age 11, no exemptions allowed).
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray per facility protocol (2-step PPD or Qgold within 12 months; Tspot not accepted).
  • Annual TB questionnaire if past positive TB test.
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: 2 vaccines or positive titer required; no declinations accepted for Rubeola.
  • Hepatitis B: Positive Hep B Surface Antibody titer required; if low/negative, additional Hep B Antigen titer required.
  • Varicella: 2 vaccines or titer required; declination accepted but must be documented.
  • Seasonal flu vaccination required during flu season (no exemptions).
  • Drug testing: 10-panel drug screen including marijuana and fentanyl required within 2 months of start and updated annually.

Documentation and Other Requirements

  • Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID) must be carried during hours of service.
  • Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations required.
  • Complete employment application/resume and skills checklist as applicable.
  • Radiation badge must be supplied by the facility for new candidates (not provided by agency).
  • Candidates must review and acknowledge professional appearance guidelines, traveler compliance, and other facility-specific forms prior to start.
  • Fit testing required for patient-facing clinical roles, completed onsite if required.
  • Latex allergy questionnaire required if applicable.
