Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse - Travel/Contract
Location: Baltimore, Maryland
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: Day shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (06:50 - 19:20)
- Float required between Mother/Baby and Scrub roles
- Call required: 2 shifts every 6-week schedule
- Every other weekend required
- Cerner experience preferred
- Charge nurse experience preferred
- Scrub experience preferred
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maryland
- Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience, with recent experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
- Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) certification
- Experience in Charge nurse roles
- Scrub experience
- Experience with Cerner electronic health record system
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Valid driver’s license if driving is an essential job function
- Background check within 90 days including criminal, education verification, and multiple state/county searches
- I9/E-Verify attestation required prior to start
- Drug screen within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana)
- Annual physical exam confirming ability to perform job without accommodations and free from communicable disease
- Immunizations and health documentation required:
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (with additional requirements if history of TB)
- Tdap vaccine within 10 years preferred
- Documentation of immunity or vaccination for Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR)
- Hepatitis B titer, series, or signed declination
- Varicella immunity or vaccination documentation
- Seasonal flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption during flu season (09/23 - 03/31)
- N95 Fit Test within 9 months of start, updated annually (client may complete onsite if needed)
Competency Requirements
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam prior to start, updated every 3 years (minimum 80% score)
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required annually for applicable units (minimum 80% overall, 100% lethal rhythms section)
- Color blind testing (online or in-person) required
Additional Notes
- Two positive supervisory references required, including one from the most recent assignment, supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years
- Complete 7 years of work history with no gaps, including education, employment, license, and contact information
- Facility-specific orientation modules must be completed prior to start date
- Photo for badge must meet specified criteria (clear, centered, no glare, solid background)
This position is ideal for experienced Labor and Delivery RNs with prior travel experience seeking a 13-week travel contract in Baltimore, MD.
