Job Opportunity: Infusion Registered Nurse

Location: Oak Ridge, Tennessee
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (Day shift, 5x8 hours)
• Hours per Week: 40 hours
• No nights, weekends, holidays, or on-call required
• Float Requirement: Must float between multiple infusion centers within East Tennessee based out of the Blount Infusion Center. Locations include Maryville, Lenoir City, Downtown, Oak Ridge, and others as needed.
• Holiday Time Off: Requests for time off during holidays or holiday weeks will not be accommodated.

Required Experience and Certifications

• Specialty Experience: Chemotherapy/infusion experience required
• Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - must be current and uploaded as actual certificate
  • ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Certification (required)
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification (can be obtained after offer)
• Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for Tennessee (must be current and verifiable)
• Must have a valid driver’s license or state ID (color copy, current)
• Must pass a comprehensive background check including 7 years of history, multiple criminal and abuse registries, and alias verification
• Must complete required competency exams including medication/pharmacology, dysrhythmia/EKG (80%+ score), and core competencies annually
• Must pass color blindness testing within 12 months prior to start
• Must provide a physical exam within 12 months of start date confirming fitness for duty
• Negative TB test (QGold or Skin Test) within 1 year of start; chest x-ray if prior positive
• Drug screening within 45 days of start, including a broad panel of substances with MRO signature
• Required immunizations/vaccinations or proof of immunity: MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella), Hepatitis B, Varicella, Flu vaccine (for starts between Sept 1 and April 1; no declinations accepted, exemptions require approval)
• Two supervisory references from the past 3 years
• Employment application with 7-year work history and no unexplained gaps over 30 days
• Unit-specific skills checklist updated within the last year

Additional Notes

• Orientation is bi-weekly and mandatory
• Candidates will have the opportunity to speak with the Chief Nursing Officer before accepting or starting the assignment
• Photo for badge must be passport style with solid background; no filters or facial piercings allowed
• Must complete onboarding attestation and review facility-specific onboarding documents
• Utility bill or lease/mortgage statement required if candidate’s address is more than 75 miles from the facility
• All certifications must be actual certificates, not screenshots or photos, and must not expire within 45 days of assignment start
• Flu vaccine exemptions only accepted for medical or religious reasons with proper documentation and agency approval
