Sonographer (Vascular) – Night Shift

Location: Waterloo, Iowa
Employment Type: Temporary
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Overview

• Work approximately 36-40 hours per week; overtime billable after 40 hours
• Required to work 1-2 of 3 upcoming summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day) unless the unit is closed
• Use of EPIC electronic medical record system
• Average of 15 scans per day
• Patient types include General, OB/GYN (non high-risk), and Vascular
• Procedures include abdomen, small parts, 1st-3rd trimester OB (dating, measurements, BPPs, fetal anatomy), transabdominal and transvaginal gynecologic imaging, venous and arterial dopplers, ABIs, aorta duplex, carotid doppler, hepatic and renal doppler
• Preferred experience assisting with fine needle aspirations, paracentesis, and thoracentesis

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Vascular Technologist, including experience within the last year
• Experience as an OB/GYN Sonographer
• ARDMS certification
• Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Valid driver’s license
• Experience with EPIC electronic medical record system

Additional Information

• First-time travelers accepted if they have at least 2 years of ultrasound experience
• Orientation provided (specific dates not included here)
• On-call and holiday work required as per unit needs
• Call back and charge/precept pay multipliers apply (details excluded)
