Description

X-Ray Tech (Radiology / Cardiology) - Travel/Contract

Location: Powell, Ohio
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Schedule:

  • 8-hour shifts, Monday–Friday
  • Varied start times depending on department needs, including:
    • 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
    • 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
    • 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
    • 1:30 PM – 10:00 PM
  • Possible every other weekend rotation: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
  • Total hours per week: 40

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic X-ray examinations using Siemens Xpree equipment.
  • Assist with procedures using OEC C-arms for spinal and urology cases.
  • Deliver high-quality imaging while ensuring patient safety and excellent customer service.
  • Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and multidisciplinary care teams to provide timely and accurate imaging services.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Radiology Technologist license in Ohio
  • Minimum of 1 year of Radiology Technologist experience, including experience within the last year
  • ARRT (R) certification
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Experience as an X-Ray Technician

Background and Compliance Requirements

  • 7-year criminal background check within 90 days of start, including SS trace, counties lived/worked, nationwide check, sex offender registry, and motor vehicle record if driving is required.
  • FBI and BCI fingerprinting required prior to start, with specific Ohio BCI/FBI fingerprinting code (3701.881). Fingerprints must be current within 1 year of start date.
  • Pending background check attestation required if fingerprint results are pending at start.
  • Education accreditation verification required.
  • Employment application and skills checklist required.
  • Two professional references required; at least one must be from a manager or formal leadership.

Health and Safety Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start confirming good health and free of contagious disease.
  • Negative TB test (PPD, QGold, or TSPOT) within 1 year or chest x-ray if positive. Annual TB questionnaire required.
  • Adult Tdap vaccination required (not TD or DTaP).
  • MMR vaccination or positive titer for Rubeola, Mumps, and Rubella required; boosters needed if low titer without proof of vaccination.
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer required unless medically exempted.
  • Hepatitis B titer or 3-vaccine series required; signed declination acceptable.
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 3 months of start (includes amphetamines, barbiturates, benzodiazepines, cannabinoids, cocaine, methadone, methaqualone, opiates, PCP, propoxyphene).
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or declination required during flu season (10/1 - 3/31); decliners must wear a mask.
  • Fit mask testing required annually for inpatient/patient-facing roles; must have valid fit test for entire assignment or complete onsite testing during first week.

Competency and Training Requirements

  • Unit-specific competency exam required.
  • Medication test/pharmacology competency exam required prior to start.
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required within 1 year of start (with remediation process if failed).

Additional Notes

  • ACLS, PALS, NRP, EFM, NIH Stroke Certification, and other certifications may be required depending on unit assignment; verify per unit.
  • Orientation safety manual acknowledgment required annually.
  • Fraud, waste, and abuse training certificate required prior to start and updated annually.
  • Dress code and hand hygiene policy must be reviewed and signed.
  • Ethics and compliance policies must be reviewed and acknowledged annually.

This position is ideal for radiology professionals with hospital experience who are comfortable working varied shifts and collaborating in a multidisciplinary environment. Compliance with extensive background checks, health screenings, and competency exams is mandatory.
