Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool - Registered Nurse

Location: Charlottesville, Virginia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Float to various pediatric units including PICU, NICU, pediatric med-surg, pediatric PACU, pediatric ED boarders, and postpartum/mother-baby units.
  • Must have PICU and NICU experience; previous NICU/PICU float pool experience considered.
  • Night shift: 4 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), totaling 48 hours/week.
  • Block scheduling cannot be accommodated or guaranteed.
  • Schedule includes every other weekend and every other holiday.
  • Time off: Up to 40 hours can be approved; no return-to-office (RTO) allowed during the first 2 weeks of assignment.
  • Must adhere to the facility’s float policy.
  • Epic electronic health record experience required.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia.
  • Minimum 2 years of Critical Care Float experience, including PICU and NICU, with at least 1 year of such experience within the last year.
  • Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) experience.
  • Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) experience.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
  • Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
  • Dr. Brown’s Infant-Driven Feeding™ certification.
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Experience with Epic electronic health record system.
