Registered Nurse (Med Surg) - Travel Assignment

Location: Carlsbad, New Mexico
Employment Type: Travel
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Days (6:30 AM – 7:00 PM), floating and call required
Hours per Week: 36


Job Description

  • Provide general medical-surgical inpatient nursing care.
  • Patient ratio typically 1:6.
  • Occasional care of non-critical pediatric patients on the floor.
  • Floating and call duties required; call only occurs for census flex prior to scheduled shifts if census is low.
  • EMR system used: MedHost.
  • Scrub color: Any color allowed.
  • Blocked scheduling may be accommodated (must be specified in submission).
  • No 48-hour guarantees.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in New Mexico
  • Minimum 2 years of medical-surgical nursing experience, including experience within the last year
  • BLS certification
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Additional Information

  • This is a general med-surg nursing role with some pediatric exposure.
  • Candidates must be prepared for floating and occasional call.
  • The fingerprinting process can take several weeks; only submit if agency is registered with New Mexico for this process.

Cons

Onboarding is somewhat tedious, but they do dot every "i" and cross every T.
