Registered Nurse - PACU (Missouri, Cape Girardeau)

Job Details
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (PACU)
- Location: Cape Girardeau, Missouri
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, Day shifts (various start/end times between 7:00 AM and 6:00 PM)
- Hours per week: 40 hours (5x8 hour shifts)
- Call Requirements:
- 1-2 weeknight call shifts every 2 weeks
- One weekend call every 8-10 weeks (Friday through Monday 7:00 AM)
- 2 RNs on call with 30-minute response time to hospital
- Nurses on call manage sending staff home when no longer needed
- No evening shift available to relieve staff
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Missouri
- Minimum 2 years of PACU (Post Anesthesia Care) experience
- PACU experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Background & Screening Requirements
- 7-year criminal background check (all locations lived/worked in past 7 years, including aliases)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM check within 60 days of start
- HHS/OIG check within 60 days of start
- Education verification of highest level completed
- Missouri State Mandated EDL Search within 60 days of start
- 2 professional references required
- Employment application required
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Negative 2-step TB test, QGOLD, or TSPOT within 1 year (if positive, clear chest x-ray within 5 years and TB questionnaire within 1 year)
- Annual TB questionnaire regardless of TB status
- Fit mask test within 12 months (specific mask models required)
- Flu vaccination required during flu season (Sept 1 - Mar 31) or approved exemption
- Hepatitis B vaccine series, positive titer, or declination
- Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella: positive titer or 2 vaccines required (or declination/booster if low/equivocal titers)
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years (required for NICU/Family Birthplace only)
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (includes amphetamines, barbiturates, benzodiazepines, cocaine, marijuana, methadone, methaqualone, propoxyphene, PCP, opiates)
Facility Specific Requirements
- Clear, passport-style photo for badge
- Completion of facility-specific e-learning modules prior to start (New Colleague E-Learning mandatory)
- Upload completed e-learning transcript for clearance
Additional Notes
- Shifts may extend ("dot shifts") based on patient needs post-surgery
- Nurses on call have responsibility to send staff home when no longer needed
