Job Opportunity: Telemetry Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Attleboro, Massachusetts

Job Description
- Work on a 10-bed Telemetry Observation Unit for patients typically staying 24 to 48 hours.
- Patient diagnoses vary medically; occasional overflow surgical patients.
- No medication drips involved.
- Must have strong telemetry experience and be able to function autonomously.
- Shift: Night, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM).
- Weekend requirement: 2-3 weekend shifts (Saturday/Sunday) within 6 weeks.
- On-call requirement: 5-6 night shifts on-call (10:00 PM – 7:00 AM) within 6 weeks.
- Floating within scope to Medical/Surgical Telemetry units may be required.
- Locals accepted.
- Block scheduling accommodations determined by unit needs.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts.
- Minimum 2 years of telemetry nursing experience, with telemetry experience within the last year.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
Facility & Work Environment
- Acute Care Hospital with 127 staffed beds.
- Charting system: Cerner.
- Scrub policy: Any color scrubs allowed (no jeans); OR/PACU scrubs provided; Case Management business casual or scrubs.
- Free parking available in unrestricted spaces or nearby lot.
Hours & Scheduling
- Guaranteed 36 hours per week (3 shifts of 12 hours).
- Night shift schedule (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM).
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- MA Statewide CORI background check required and must be completed prior to start.
- Standard background checks including 7-year county searches, SS trace, nationwide, sex offender registry, EPLS/GSA/SAM, and HHS/OIG required.
- Massachusetts Nurse Aide Registry Search required for all travelers in MA.
- Physical exam within 1 year prior to start.
- N95 fit test within last 6 months (specific approved mask models required).
- Drug screen within 30 days prior to start (minimum 9-panel).
- Immunizations and titers required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (with medical exemption documentation if applicable).
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) immunity or vaccination (declinations not accepted).
- Hepatitis B immunity or signed declination accepted.
- Varicella immunity or vaccination (declinations not accepted).
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray per facility guidelines.
- Annual TB questionnaire for past positives or pending TB tests.
- Seasonal flu vaccination/documentation required during flu season (September–April); medical or religious exemptions considered case-by-case.
- COVID-19 vaccination required; exemptions only accepted with signed medical or religious documentation.
Additional Requirements
- Age-specific competency exam required.
- Badge photo (passport style, head and shoulders with plain background) must be submitted 2 weeks prior to start.
- Compliance checklist, latex allergy questionnaire, personal information forms, and COVID exemption forms (if applicable) must be completed prior to start.
- Two professional references required within 3 years of hire.
Notes
- Facility does not allow background checks or CORI to be pending at time of clearance.
- No medication drips on unit; strong telemetry skills and autonomy expected.
- Floating may be required within Medical/Surgical Telemetry units.
- First-time travelers must have 2-3 years of experience and EHR experience (Epic or Cerner).
- On-call shifts required in addition to scheduled shifts.
This position is ideal for experienced telemetry RNs seeking a travel contract in an acute care setting with night shifts and a focus on telemetry observation care.
