Registered Nurse - ER (Night Shift) - Indiana, Seymour
Job Details
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: Night, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
- Hours per Week: 36 hours
- Schedule Notes:
- Work Labor Day and every 4th weekend
- Option for 4 days/week (46 hours) available
- Floating within scope may be required to meet facility needs
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Indiana
- Minimum 5 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, including experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
- Driver’s License
Background and Compliance Requirements
- Background check within 1 year covering all locations lived/worked/schooled, updated annually
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required
- Education verification (diploma or transcript accepted)
- Primary source verification of state license
- Annual orientation safety manual acknowledgement
- Medication/pharmacology competency exam required
- Annual competency exam required
- Facility-specific confidentiality, eligibility attestation, and self-learning orientation documents must be reviewed and signed
- Completion of approximately 1-2 hours of computer-based learning modules annually
Health and Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start (not annually updated)
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine (not required every 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year prior to start (2-step PPD, QuantiFERON Gold, or T-SPOT)
- Immunizations or titers for:
- Measles (2 MMR vaccines or titer)
- Mumps (2 MMR vaccines or titer)
- Rubella (2 MMR vaccines or titer)
- Hepatitis B (3 vaccines with positive titer, positive titer alone, or signed declination)
- Varicella (2 vaccines or titer)
- 9-panel drug screen within 1 year prior to start (instant accepted)
- Flu vaccine recommended but not required for 2025-26 season
- COVID vaccination or declination documentation preferred but not required
Additional Requirements
- Two professional references from the past 3 years
- Annual skills checklist required
- Call-out restrictions: cannot call out for more than one week
Location and Radius
- Local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius at local rate
This position requires a highly experienced ER Registered Nurse with strong certifications and compliance with extensive background and health documentation. Night shift availability and flexibility to float within scope are essential.
