Description

Registered Nurse - Emergency Room

Location: Syracuse, New York
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 07:00 - 19:30 (36 hours per week)
Schedule: Every Other Weekend (EOW) & Every Other Holiday (EOH) per department rotation
Call: No call required
Electronic Health Record: Epic


Job Description

  • Provide nursing care in the Emergency Department.
  • Work 36 hours per week during the day shift (7 AM to 7:30 PM).
  • Rotate weekends and holidays as scheduled by the department.
  • Must be willing to travel at least 75 miles from home (no local contracts).

Required Qualifications

  • License: Valid RN license in New York.
  • Education: Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing.
  • Experience:
    • ED - Emergency Department experience within the last year.
    • ED - Emergency Department (2 years of experience).
  • Certifications:
    • BLS issued by American Heart Association.
    • ACLS issued by American Heart Association.
    • PALS issued by American Heart Association.

Onboarding and Compliance Requirements

  • License/certification verification dated within 30 days of start.
  • Specialty-specific competency testing completed within the last year.
  • Fit test for N95 masks as applicable.
  • Immunizations and health documentation:
    • COVID-19 vaccine proof or approved declination/exemption (declination not accepted in CA or IL).
    • Influenza vaccine proof or declination/exemption (optional, declination not accepted in CA or IL).
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or immunity proof.
    • Hepatitis B vaccination series started prior to start date.
    • Varicella vaccination or immunity proof.
    • Tdap vaccination or declination (declination accepted if no pediatric interaction).
  • Tuberculosis screening: 2-step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot) with chest x-ray if positive, per regional requirements.
  • Physical/health statement confirming fitness to work within the last year.
  • 10-panel drug screen completed within 30 days of start.

Professional and Legal Documentation

  • Signed Code of Conduct form.
  • Signed Confidentiality and Information Security Agreement.
  • Signed Integrity and Audit Services form.
  • Conflict of Interest Disclosure form signed within 30 days of start.
  • Criminal background check (federal, nationwide, county) covering last 7 years, including SSN verification, dated within 30 days of start.
  • Employment verification for the last 7 years.
  • Education verification of highest academic degree or diploma/GED.
  • EPLS (Excluded Parties List System) report dated within 30 days.
  • OIG (Office of Inspector General) exclusion check dated within 30 days.
  • NSO (National Sex Offender) check dated within 30 days.
  • System access form completed and uploaded one week before start.
  • Joint Commission CORE exam within the last year.
  • Skills checklist provided by agency for clinical contractors.

Additional Notes

  • No local contracts; candidate must be located 75+ miles from the facility.
  • No call responsibilities.
  • Must be able to work with Epic EHR system.

This position is ideal for Emergency Room Registered Nurses seeking a 13-week travel assignment with day shifts and no call requirements.
