Job Opportunity: Emergency Room Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Holyoke, Massachusetts
Contract Length: 8 weeks
Shift: Night shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM, includes 30-minute lunch)
Hours per Week: 36

Job Description

• Seeking experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurses for a fast-paced, high-acuity, full-spectrum ED serving patients of all ages, including a locked behavioral health unit (12-bed capacity).
• The ED occasionally treats pediatric patients; a Level 1 pediatric trauma center is nearby.
• This is a travel assignment starting ASAP with no late start dates accepted.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Massachusetts
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, including experience within the last year
• One completed travel assignment
• Certifications required:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) issued by American Heart Association
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) issued by American Heart Association
  • CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute)
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Patient Population & Unit Details

• Patients range from birth through end of life, predominantly adults.
• Includes a locked behavioral health unit.
• Dynamic, community-oriented hospital environment with a supportive culture.

Health & Background Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start.
• Immunizations/vaccinations required:

  • Tdap (or signed declination)
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (positive titer or 2 vaccines at least 28 days apart; declinations not accepted)
  • Varicella (positive titer or 2 vaccines; declinations not accepted)
  • Hepatitis B (positive titer or signed declination)
  • Seasonal flu vaccine or declination required during flu season (Oct 1 – Apr 30). Vaccines offered onsite.
• Negative TB test (2 negative PPDs, Tspot, or Qgold within 1 year) or chest x-ray if prior positive. TB questionnaire required if applicable.
• 10-panel drug screen within 1 year of start.
• Background checks including Massachusetts statewide iCORI clearance, SSN trace, county criminal, NSOFACIS, enhanced nationwide criminal search, and others as required.

Additional Requirements

• Current driver’s license or government-issued photo ID.
• Massachusetts statewide (iCORI) release required ASAP and updated annually.
• Confidentiality agreement required.
• Two professional references required (within 2 years of start).
