Description
NICU Registered Nurse
Overview
- 13-week travel assignment
- 12-hour day shifts
- 36 hours per week
- Location: Nampa, Idaho
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license
- 3 years of NICU experience
- BLS certification
- NRP certification
- STABLE certification
- Must be able to attend deliveries, stabilize newborns, perform newborn assessments, and attend C-sections
- Must be able to float to NICU or sitter assignments across multiple sites in the area
Unit Details
- Level II NICU
- 8 beds
- Typical patients include infants 32 weeks and greater, with respiratory distress, feeding/growing needs, hypoglycemia, and NAS scoring/opioid withdrawal
- Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:3
- Neonatal NP available 24/7
- Continuous centralized monitoring in use
- NICU CPAP available; ventilated patients are transferred to a higher-level NICU
Schedule and Assignment Notes
- No call required
- No minimum weekend requirement
- Holiday coverage may be needed based on unit needs
- Travelers should not expect guaranteed block scheduling
- 3 days of unit orientation are provided
- Compliance tasks must be completed before start
Additional Notes
- First-time travelers are accepted
- Hospital-issued scrubs are required
- Acrylic or gel nails are not allowed
- Radius rule applies for candidate residence verification
