Description

RN (Registered Nurse)

Location

  • Meridian, Idaho

Contract Length

  • 13 weeks

Schedule

  • 12-hour night shifts
  • 36 hours per week
  • Weekends as needed

Unit Overview

  • Medical-surgical unit with 42 beds
  • Typical patient ratio: 1:5, with occasional 1:6
  • Common patient types include medical overflow, respiratory, GI, and behavioral health
  • Charge nurse is present each shift
  • Patient care tech support is available
  • First to float

Required Qualifications

  • Active BLS certification
  • 2 years of medical-surgical experience
  • Ability to read and interpret telemetry strips
  • Willingness to take students and precept new travelers

Responsibilities / Expectations

  • Float between medical-surgical units and other like units as needed
  • May float to ER for holds
  • Follow unit dress code: clean, professional attire in any color

Orientation

  • 3 days of general orientation, including training and educator meeting
  • 2 shifts on the unit with a preceptor
  • Online modules must be completed before the assignment starts

Additional Notes

  • Travelers are scheduled by the facility
  • Weekend coverage is used to fill staffing gaps
  • Holiday coverage may be required if needed

Marigold is polite and professional. She goes above and beyond to ensure the contractor is well informed and has everything needed to be successful. She helped me with onboarding and getting used to the timesheet app and she answers my texts promptly, even after hours. She is a great recruiter liason. Gladys was a super helpful with onboarding and Denise will hook you up with benefits with no trouble at all. Great team to work with.

Cons

Onboarding is somewhat tedious, but they do dot every "i" and cross every T.
