Operating Room RN Travel Contract

Overview

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Illinois
  • OR - Operating Room (2.5 years of experience)
  • OR - Operating Room experience within the last year
  • One completed travel assignment
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Laparoscopic assisted bariatric cases
  • General surgery case experience: Appendectomy, Cholecystectomy, Colon resection, Hernia repair inguinal/umbilical, Laparoscopic assisted procedures, Mastectomy, Thyroidectomy partial/total, Whipple
  • Neurology case skills/experience: Cervical fusion, Craniotomy, Laminectomy/discectomy, Lumbar fusion
  • Orthopedic case skills/experience: Arthroscopy, Carpal Tunnel release, Closed reduction of fractures, Open reduction of fractures
  • Plastic surgery case skills/experience: Free Flap - Microvascular
  • Transplant skills/experience: Organ donation
  • Urology case skills/experience: Cystoscopy, Nephrectomy, Prostatectomy
  • Fiber optic light sources/cords operation
  • Hana tables operation
  • Trauma experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • CNOR
  • Cerner experience

Clinical Experience Needed

  • Level I trauma experience
  • Bariatric laparoscopic-assisted cases
  • General surgery cases including appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resection, inguinal/umbilical hernia repair, laparoscopic-assisted procedures, mastectomy, partial/total thyroidectomy, and Whipple
  • Neurology cases including cervical fusion, craniotomy, laminectomy/discectomy, and lumbar fusion
  • Orthopedic cases including arthroscopy, carpal tunnel release, and fracture reductions
  • Plastic surgery free flap/microvascular cases
  • Organ donation/transplant cases
  • Urology cases including cystoscopy, nephrectomy, and prostatectomy
  • Trauma cases including amputations, gunshot/stab wounds, and motor vehicle accident multiple-injury cases
  • Emergency management skills including code response, fire safety, latex allergy, and malignant hyperthermia
  • Equipment/instrumentation experience with electrosurgical units, fiber optic light sources/cords, and Hana tables
  • Professional skills including blood product administration, infection control, radiation safety, specimen handling/labeling, universal protocol/time-out, and urinary bladder catheterization

  • Scrubs are provided
  • Parking permit required; no cost
  • All requested time off must be reviewed and approved by the manager

Pros

Marigold is polite and professional. She goes above and beyond to ensure the contractor is well informed and has everything needed to be successful. She helped me with onboarding and getting used to the timesheet app and she answers my texts promptly, even after hours. She is a great recruiter liason. Gladys was a super helpful with onboarding and Denise will hook you up with benefits with no trouble at all. Great team to work with.

Cons

Onboarding is somewhat tedious, but they do dot every "i" and cross every T.
