Electrophysiology Lab Registered Nurse

Location: Roanoke, Virginia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Schedule: Four 10-hour shifts per week (7:00 AM – 5:30 PM), rotating late shifts
  • No weekends or call requirements; staff rotate staying late if cases extend into the evening
  • Must be available to work or take call one holiday per 13-week contract (rotational, if department is open)
  • Charting system: Epic
  • Locals allowed if living 50-99.9 miles from the facility (one 13-week contract approved)
  • Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility based on driver's license address

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia
  • Minimum of 1 year Electrophysiology Lab experience, including EP mapping, within the last year
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • Clinical skills including dysrhythmia recognition and interpretation
  • Experience with fluoroscopy, Siemens, Ultrasound, Phillips equipment
  • Experience with Carto Ensite mapping system and Cardiolab system
  • Experience with Epic charting system

Experience Requirements

  • Specialty: Electrophysiology Lab nursing experience required
  • Prior travel experience: Not required; first-time travelers accepted

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

  • Driver’s license/state ID with an address at least 50 miles from the facility required within 48 hours of signing
  • Background check covering 7 years of history, including education verification and various federal/state screenings, required within 1 year of start
  • E-Verify or attestation required
  • Primary source verification of RN license (NURSYS) within 30 days of start
  • Physical exam within 1 year confirming freedom from communicable diseases
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually
  • Fit test for mask within 1 year, updated annually (onsite fit testing possible if arranged)
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
  • Required immunizations or positive titers: Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
  • Flu vaccination documentation or signed declination with masking during flu season
  • Two clinical references required
  • Completed employment application/resume
  • Annual skills checklist update required

Additional Notes

  • Facility is a Level I Trauma Center, Magnet-designated, and certified stroke center
  • Recognized nationally for cardiac cath lab excellence with multiple state-of-the-art cath labs and advanced cardiovascular services
  • No weekend or call requirements, but holiday coverage is rotational
  • Must comply with facility-specific orientation and compliance paperwork prior to start
