Description

Step Down Nurse

Overview

  • Location: Saint Louis, Missouri
  • Employment type: Travel/Contract
  • Shift: Night, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
  • Hours per week: 36
  • Contract length: 13 weeks
  • Start timing: 3–4 weeks out, depending on compliance tier
  • Patient ratio: 1:3–4
  • Weekend requirement: Every other weekend
  • Floating: May float within scope to meet facility needs
  • Local candidates: Not accepted within 75 miles
  • Pending license: Accepted
  • Time off restriction: No more than 7 days of RTO per 13-week contract

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Missouri
  • Stepdown (2 years of experience)
  • Stepdown experience within the last year
  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association
  • BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Vascular Surgery experience

Unit / Role Details

  • Step-down unit
  • Pre- and post-operative vascular surgical services, including:
    • Abdominal and thoracic aortic aneurysm repair
    • Carotid endarterectomies and stents
    • Peripheral vascular interventions of lower extremities
    • Hemodialysis AV fistulas and grafts
    • Thoracic outlet decompression
    • Lower extremity amputations
    • Lysis of DVTs

Pros

Marigold is polite and professional. She goes above and beyond to ensure the contractor is well informed and has everything needed to be successful. She helped me with onboarding and getting used to the timesheet app and she answers my texts promptly, even after hours. She is a great recruiter liason. Gladys was a super helpful with onboarding and Denise will hook you up with benefits with no trouble at all. Great team to work with.

Cons

Onboarding is somewhat tedious, but they do dot every "i" and cross every T.
