Overview

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in New York
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• PreOp / PACU - Post Anesthesia Care (1 year of experience)
• PreOp / PACU - Post Anesthesia Care experience within the last year
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• ACLS issued by American Heart Association
• Experience in an Outpatient setting
• Cardiac monitoring, including dysrhythmia recognition and management
• Endoscopic procedures experience
• Laparoscopic procedures experience
• Urology cases experience
• Reversal agents administration
• Local anesthesia recovery management
• Monitored Anesthesia Care (MAC) recovery management
• Nerve blocks recovery management
• Spinal anesthesia recovery management

Clinical Experience Needed

• Ambulatory/Outpatient
• Phase I PACU
• Pre-Op/Post-Op care
• Cardiac monitoring, including dysrhythmia recognition and management
• Hyperglycemia/hypoglycemia protocols
• Insulin administration and management
• IV insertion and maintenance
• Endoscopic procedures
• Laparoscopic procedures
• Urology cases
• Emergency medications
• Narcotics/opioid analgesics
• Reversal agents
• Local anesthesia
• Monitored Anesthesia Care (MAC)
• Nerve blocks
• Spinal anesthesia
• Post-epidural management
• Pre-op assessments and patient education
• Pre-op medication administration
• Review of History & Physical (H&P)
• Obtain operative/procedural consents
• Obtain 12-lead EKG/ECG
• Medication reconciliation
• Pre/Post Endoscopy care
• Pre/Post Operative care
• Discharge instructions
• Isolation precautions and PPE
• Malignant Hyperthermia protocol
• Pain assessment and management
• Richmond Agitation-Sedation Scale (RASS)
