Overview
- Location: Roanoke, Virginia
- Employment type: Travel/Contract
- Shift: Night, 4x12 hours (6:45 PM–7:15 AM)
- Contract length: 13 weeks

Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Virginia
- PCU - Progressive Care Unit (1 year of experience)
- PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
- ACLS
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- NIHSS
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Ventilator experience required (ventilator care for chronic trach patients)
- Experience with Epic
Schedule and Assignment Details
- May work every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week scheduling block
- Must work one holiday per 13-week contract
- Floating required within skillset
- Accepts first-time travelers
- Locals accepted
Clinical Focus
- Cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation/management
- IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and central/peripheral line care
- Medication administration, including cardiac drips without titration
- Respiratory support including nasal cannula, oxygen, CPAP, and BiPAP
- Rapid response and code team activation
- Isolation precautions and telemetry settings in stepdown-level care
Unit Setting
- Stepdown environment with surgical PCU focus
- Typical patient ratio: 1:5, with staffing goal of 1:4
- Care includes chronic trach patients and backup support for trauma/surgical services
Compliance and Pre-Start Items
- Driver’s license or state ID required within 48 hours of signing
- E-Verify or attestation required
- 2 clinical references required
- Background check, education verification, physical exam, fit mask, TB screening, drug screen, and immunization documentation required before start
