Job Details
- Travel RN position
- Specialty: Cardiac Stepdown
- Night shift, 19:00-07:30
- 36 or 48 guaranteed hours per week
- 16-week assignment
- 1 opening
- Auto-offer position
- Every other weekend required
- No call required
- Float as needed to a similar or lower acuity unit
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Missouri
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Cardiac Stepdown (1 year of experience)
- Cardiac Stepdown experience within the last year
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- ACLS issued by American Heart Association
- Experience in a(n) Inpatient setting
- Driver's License
Preferred Qualifications
- NIHSS certification
Unit Information
- 32 beds
- Typical patient ratio: 1:3-1:4
- Equipment includes chest tubes, temporary pacemakers, and BiPAPs
- Patient population includes post-op CABG/valve, thoracotomies, respiratory failure, and chest pain
Work Environment
- Team-oriented role with emphasis on positive culture
- Night shift orientation occurs on day shift, and the traveler must be available for the full orientation week
- Physical demands include standing and walking most of the shift, frequent bending and stooping, and lifting/turning patients with assistance
- High exposure risk to blood and body fluids
- May require pushing, pulling, and gripping up to 50 lbs, and pinching up to 15 lbs
Dress Code
- All black scrubs with Mercy logo on top
- No hoodies, jackets without the Mercy logo, t-shirts, open-toed shoes, earbuds, or fake nails
