Labor and Delivery RN

Location

• Fishersville, Virginia

Schedule

• Night shift
• 3x12 hours
• 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• On-call required: 36 hours in a 6-week block

Unit Overview

• Combined obstetrical unit covering labor and delivery, postpartum, antepartum, and Level II nursery
• Also supports gynecologic/medical overflow, observational triage, mother-baby couplet care, and border babies

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Virginia
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
• 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure

Experience / Clinical Background

• Experience with obstetric care, including vaginal and cesarean deliveries, antepartum patients, postpartum care, and Level II nursery care
• Ability to assist with obstetric procedures such as versions, induction of labor, cervical ripening, IUFD care, bereavement care, and cesarean sections
• If floated outside the specialty, may be used in a general nursing support role
