  • Definitive Observation Unit Nurse, Progressive Care Nurse, Intensive Care Unit Nurse, Surgical Stepdown Nurse, Stepdown Nurse or Intermediate Care Nurse (2 years)
    Education
  • Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Science in Nursing or Associate of Science in Nursing

Description

Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse

Location

  • Twin Falls, Idaho

Schedule

  • 13-week contract
  • 12-hour night shifts
  • 36 hours per week
  • Day and night shifts are available
  • Weekends as needed
  • Holidays as needed
  • No call or standby requirement

Unit Overview

  • ICU and PCU combination unit
  • Floating occurs between ICU and PCU patients within the unit
  • Charge nurse works without an assignment and supports the whole unit
  • Nurse-to-patient ratios:
    • ICU: 1:1-2
    • PCU: 1:3

Required Qualifications

  • Active RN license
  • 1 year of experience
  • BLS certification
  • ACLS certification
  • NIHSS certification
  • Experience with TTM using Thermaguard/Zoll cooling
  • Experience reading and interpreting telemetry strips
  • EPIC experience
  • Prior travel experience required

Clinical Environment

  • Common patient types include ventilated patients, cardiac post-PCI, Impella, IABP, stroke/TNK, vascular, trauma, sepsis, overdose, abdominal trauma/surgical, and CRRT cases
  • RN titration of drips is required
  • Respiratory therapy is available in the unit 24/7
  • Intensivist coverage is available 7 days a week
  • Hospitalist coverage is available 24/7

Additional Details

  • Navy blue scrubs
  • 2-unit orientation provided
  • Scheduling support is available, with block scheduling considered based on unit needs

Pros

Marigold is polite and professional. She goes above and beyond to ensure the contractor is well informed and has everything needed to be successful. She helped me with onboarding and getting used to the timesheet app and she answers my texts promptly, even after hours. She is a great recruiter liason. Gladys was a super helpful with onboarding and Denise will hook you up with benefits with no trouble at all. Great team to work with.

Cons

Onboarding is somewhat tedious, but they do dot every "i" and cross every T.
