Unit Overview
- Level III/IV NICU
- Cares for infants as early as 23–24 weeks gestation
- Rarely floats, but may be assigned to other campuses or to newborn care areas
- Travelers usually do not admit babies because a dedicated admit nurse handles that role
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Washington
- NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care (3 years of experience)
- NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association or Heart and Stroke Foundation
- BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or Heart and Stroke Foundation
- NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure
- Open to floating to different campuses
- Active compact license is accepted in Washington for Swedish facilities
- Must be separated from any Providence-affiliated facility for at least 3 months if previously employed there

- NIH Stroke Certification
Clinical Skills / Experience
- No ECMO
- CPAP/BiPap
- High-frequency vents
- Oscillators
- Ventilator management
- Blood and blood product administration
- Cardioversion/defibrillation
- Cooling/warming blanket use
- Feeding tubes
- PICC/central line care
- Syringe pumps
- Attendance at high-risk deliveries
- Neonatal surgeries
Additional Notes
- Block scheduling may be approved
- May float to Issaquah or Edmonds SCN, or to Pediatrics/NBN for newborn care only
