Description
Pharmacist Inpatient
Overview
- Specialty: Pharmacy
- Location: Kingman, Arizona
- Employment type: Travel/Contract
- Contract length: 13 weeks
- Schedule: 5 days per week, 8-hour shifts; rotating shifts between 6:00 AM and 10:00 PM; every other weekend
- On-call: No
- RTO restrictions: None
- First-time travelers: Accepted
- Locals: Accepted at the same rate as first-time travelers
Required Qualifications
- Valid Pharmacist license in Arizona
- Pharmacist (1 year of experience)
- Pharmacist experience within the last year
- IV Admixture
- Sterile Compounding
- BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Experience in an inpatient setting
- Driver's License
Preferred Qualifications
- Meditech experience preferred
Work Setting
- Hospital inpatient pharmacy
- Census: 130–150 patients per day
Responsibilities
- Supervise, coordinate, and participate in pharmaceutical services for drug preparation and dispensing
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations related to dispensing drugs and narcotics
- Plan and schedule shift work and staffing assignments
- Compile prescription charges and maintain drug and supply accountability records
- Communicate with medical staff about formulary, drug usage, compatibility, and drug-control regulations
- Compound, package, and label pharmaceutical products, including IV admixtures
- Maintain formulary and inventory; reorder and stock drugs and supplies
