ICU Travel Nurse
Overview
- Location: Roanoke, Virginia
- Employment type: Travel/Contract
- Shift: Night shift, 3x12s, 6:45 PM–7:15 AM
- Contract length: 26 weeks
- Setting: Whole-house float across ICU, PCU, and medical-surgical units
Key Responsibilities
- Float between ICU, PCU, and medical-surgical units as needed
- Work with patient ratios of at least 1:5
- Perform ICU-level nursing care, including IV therapy, phlebotomy, PICC line management, central line care, arterial line management, blood product administration, trach management, non-invasive airway support, ventilator management, chest tubes, cardiac monitoring, continuous IV sedation, emergency medications, and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Virginia
- Critical Care Float (2 years of experience)
- Critical Care Float experience within the last year
- ACLS issued by American Heart Association
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- NIHSS
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- ICU - Intensive Care Unit experience
- Experience with Epic
Scheduling Requirements
- May be scheduled every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week block
- Must work one holiday per 13-week contract
- Floating may occur up to every 4 hours
- All requested time off, block scheduling, and special scheduling requests must be submitted with the application
Additional Notes
- First-time travelers are accepted
- Local candidates are accepted
- The facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
