Registered Nurse — Med/Surg Telemetry Post-Surgical Unit
Overview
- Travel/contract role in Chesapeake, Virginia
- Night shift: 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
- Schedule options: 3x12s or 4x12s
- Typical patient ratio: 1:7
- High-volume post-surgical unit caring for urology and GYN surgical patients
- Every other weekend, floating, and holidays are required
- Travelers must work two of the three winter holidays
- Longer assignments through January 9, 2027 are available
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Virginia
- Med Surg / Telemetry (2 years of experience)
- Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Driver's License
- Experience with Epic
Required Certifications
- BLS through the American Heart Association
Compliance / Submission Requirements
- Driver’s license required for address verification before offer acceptance
- Completed Qualivis Cover Sheet
- Current NURSYS report
- All requested time off listed on the Qualivis Cover Sheet
- No license or background hits are accepted
- Proof of 2 references required
- Complete application/resume required
- Unit-specific skills checklist required
- Passport-style photo required before start
- Vehicle registration form required before start
- Physical exam statement required within 12 months of start
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray required within 1 year of start
- Negative 10-panel drug screen required within 12 months of start
- Flu vaccination or approved exemption required by 10/31
- COVID vaccine is preferred but not required
Additional Notes
- Previous travel experience is preferred
- Overtime is paid after 48 hours for 4x12 schedules
