Registered Nurse

Assignment Overview

  • Location: Chesapeake, Virginia
  • Employment type: Travel/Contract
  • Specialty: MedSurg Neuro & Stroke
  • Shift: Night, 3x12 hours, 19:00–7:30
  • Schedule options: 3x12s or 4x12s
  • Typical patient ratio: 1:7
  • Longer assignments through January 9, 2027 are available

Required Qualifications

  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Valid RN license in Virginia
  • Med Surg / Telemetry (2 years of experience)
  • Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
  • One completed travel assignment
  • Driver's License
  • Neurology experience
  • Stroke experience
  • Experience with Epic

Required Certifications

  • BLS (American Heart Association)
  • ACLS (American Heart Association)
  • NIHSS

Schedule Expectations

  • Every other weekend, floating, and holidays within the contract are required
  • Travelers must work two of the three winter holidays

Additional Notes

  • Epic proficiency required
  • Candidates must be fully pre-closed and comfortable with the patient ratio before submission
  • RN candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility will not be accepted

Pros

Marigold is polite and professional. She goes above and beyond to ensure the contractor is well informed and has everything needed to be successful. She helped me with onboarding and getting used to the timesheet app and she answers my texts promptly, even after hours. She is a great recruiter liason. Gladys was a super helpful with onboarding and Denise will hook you up with benefits with no trouble at all. Great team to work with.

Cons

Onboarding is somewhat tedious, but they do dot every "i" and cross every T.
