ICU Registered Nurse Travel Assignment
Location
- Nampa, Idaho
Job Type
- Travel assignment
- 13 weeks
- Night shift
- 12-hour shifts
- 36 hours per week
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license
- BLS certification
- ACLS certification
- NIHSS certification
- At least 1 year of ICU experience
- First-time travelers accepted
Unit Details
- ICU with 10 beds
- Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:2
- RNs are required to titrate drips
- RNs are required to read telemetry strips
- No tele techs on the unit
Common Patient Population
- Heart failure
- Respiratory failure
- Sepsis
- Ventilated patients
- GI bleeds
- Strokes
- TPA
- Post-code patients
- Pneumonia
- Post-surgical patients
Scheduling and Coverage
- Shifts are 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- Weekend coverage as needed
- Holiday coverage if needed
- No call or standby requirement
- Shifts are scheduled by the unit scheduler
- Shifts may be blocked or grouped together
Floating
- May float to telemetry
- May also float to Meridian and Boise ICUs
Support on Site
- Charge nurse does not take patients
- Administrative supervisor on site 24/7
- Crisis nurse on site 24/7
- Hospitalist on site 24/7
- Intensivist available via telehealth 24/7
- Respiratory therapists in the ICU 24/7
- CNA support: 1 per shift
Orientation
- 1 to 2 shifts of unit orientation, depending on experience
Additional Notes
- Travelers will not take CRRT
- Must be a good team player
- Facility radius rule: candidates must live more than 50 miles away from the facility
