Description
RRT-NICU
Overview
- Travel/contract role in New Brunswick, New Jersey
- 13-week assignment
- 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, 3x12 schedule
- Every other weekend required
- May be required to float within skillset
- No on-call requirement
- First-time travelers accepted
- Travel pairs not accepted
- Prior permanent employees are not eligible
Required Qualifications
- Certified Respiratory Therapy - NICU (2 years of experience)
- Certified Respiratory Therapy - NICU experience within the last year
- BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
- PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support issued by American Heart Association
- NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure
- Experience with Jet/oscillator ventilation and Nitric Oxide (iNO) therapy
- High-risk delivery experience
- Neonatal transport experience
- Capillary/umbilical blood gas collection experience
- Bubble CPAP experience
- CPAP/BiPAP experience
- Bivent ventilation experience
- IMV/SIMV ventilation experience
- Pressure/volume ventilation experience
- Intubation assist experience
Schedule Notes
- Scheduling requests, including up to 5 days of requested time off, must be submitted and approved by the facility
- Candidates with additional jobs must treat this contract as their primary schedule, including every other weekend
Compliance / Pre-Start Requirements
- Criminal background check covering all locations lived or worked in within the past 7 years, including aliases and jurisdictions uncovered by SSN trace
- International searches required if the traveler has lived or worked out of the country within 7 years
- Background check within 30 days of start
- SAM search within 30 days of start
- OIG search within 30 days of start
- Orientation safety manual acknowledgement
- Pass/fail testing acknowledgement if needed for IV Cert Exam or Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam
- Hard copy of professional license, as applicable
- NURSYS verification, as applicable
- Photo for badge
- Orientation self-study packet reviewed and signed before start
- Physical exam / fit-to-work statement
- Tdap
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray
- TB questionnaire
- Measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, hepatitis B, hepatitis C, and drug testing documentation
- Flu vaccination documentation or approved exemption, if applicable
- References: 3 required, including one supervisor-level reference
- Skills checklist
- Work history verification for New Jersey candidates
