Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for a Level IV NICU position requiring at least 2 years of recent acute care experience with jet/oscillator ventilation and nitric oxide therapy.
Details
- Work in a 54-bed Level IV NICU at a state-designated Regional Perinatal Center within a teaching hospital
- Night shift, 7p-7a, 3x12-hour shifts
- Every other weekend required, and this contract must be the candidate's primary schedule
- 36-hour contracts only
- May be required to float within skillset
- No on-call requirements
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of recent, proficient acute care experience
- Level III NICU experience accepted, Level IV NICU preferred
- Active state Respiratory Care license required (license required if applicable)
- Certifications required: BLS, NRP, PALS, RRT
- Experience with Jet/oscillator ventilation and Nitric Oxide (iNO) required
- Experience with high-risk deliveries, neonatal transport, capillary/umbilical blood gases, Bubble CPAP, CPAP/BiPAP, Bivent, IMV/SIMV, pressure/volume ventilation, and intubation assist
- Experience caring for patients with BPD, RDS, RSV, TTN, and near drowning
- Experience with aerosol therapy (mask/trach), MDI, and a range of respiratory medications including Albuterol, Atrovent, and inhaled steroids
- Experience with bag-mask ventilation, ET tube management, HFNC, oxygen tanks, T-piece/trach collar, and ventilator weaning
- Experience caring for patients with ARDS, aspiration, COVID, cystic fibrosis, fresh tracheostomy, and pneumonia
- Experience with chest physiotherapy (manual/vest), ABG collection/interpretation, bronchoscopy, extubation, and airway suctioning
- References from managers or supervisors within the last year required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide advanced respiratory care including ventilation management, nitric oxide therapy, and high-risk neonatal resuscitation support
- Work as part of the respiratory care team within a Regional Perinatal Center
- Scrub color required: Ceil Blue
- First-time travelers will be considered for this position
- Prior permanent employees of the facility are not eligible
- Travel pairs will not be accepted
- Up to 5 days of RTO may be requested and must be approved by the facility at time of submission
- Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility will receive a reduced local rate
