Registered Nurse — Long-Term Care

Overview

• Travel/contract role in Vestal, New York
• Day shift, 5x8 hours
• 40 hours per week
• Every other weekend required
• May occasionally be asked to work evenings or nights
• Start dates are offered every 2 weeks due to orientation scheduling
• First-time travelers accepted
• Local candidates accepted
• Cannot change shift once offered
• RTO must be approved at submission and cannot be added after offer

Required Qualifications

• Active New York State RN license
• At least 1 year of long-term care or skilled nursing experience
• BLS certification
• Must be able to pass a medication administration test and clinical observation
• Must provide proof of license at submission

Schedule / Work Expectations

• RN supervisor role
• Must be available for every other weekend
• Cannot take every holiday off
• Strong attendance and punctuality are required
• Must be flexible with scheduling needs

Clinical Setting

• Long-term care / skilled nursing environment
• Resident population includes Alzheimer’s and dementia care
• Supervision of CNAs on assigned units
• Typical ratio: 1:18–20

Responsibilities

• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
• Perform medication passes accurately and safely
• Monitor and report changes in resident condition
• Complete timely and accurate documentation
• Provide nursing care according to facility policies

Additional Notes

• Free parking
• No mileage reimbursement
• Any solid-color scrubs and closed-toe shoes are acceptable
• Charting system is not required for submission
