Registered Nurse — Long-Term Care
Overview
- Travel/contract role in Vestal, New York
- Day shift, 5x8 hours
- 40 hours per week
- Every other weekend required
- May occasionally be asked to work evenings or nights
- Start dates are offered every 2 weeks due to orientation scheduling
- First-time travelers accepted
- Local candidates accepted
- Cannot change shift once offered
- RTO must be approved at submission and cannot be added after offer
Required Qualifications
- Active New York State RN license
- At least 1 year of long-term care or skilled nursing experience
- BLS certification
- Must be able to pass a medication administration test and clinical observation
- Must provide proof of license at submission
Schedule / Work Expectations
- RN supervisor role
- Must be available for every other weekend
- Cannot take every holiday off
- Strong attendance and punctuality are required
- Must be flexible with scheduling needs
Clinical Setting
- Long-term care / skilled nursing environment
- Resident population includes Alzheimer’s and dementia care
- Supervision of CNAs on assigned units
- Typical ratio: 1:18–20
Responsibilities
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
- Perform medication passes accurately and safely
- Monitor and report changes in resident condition
- Complete timely and accurate documentation
- Provide nursing care according to facility policies
Additional Notes
- Free parking
- No mileage reimbursement
- Any solid-color scrubs and closed-toe shoes are acceptable
- Charting system is not required for submission
