CVOR RN

Overview

  • Travel/contract role in Roanoke, Virginia
  • Day shift: 5x8s, 6:45 AM–3:15 PM
  • 40 hours per week
  • 13-week contract
  • Includes weekend and evening call rotation
  • One holiday required per contract
  • First-time travelers accepted
  • Local candidates not accepted

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Virginia
  • CVOR (1 year of experience)
  • CVOR experience within the last year
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Experience working with Level 2 Trauma patients
  • Experience with AAA repair
  • Experience with CABG
  • Experience with Atrial Septal Defect Repair
  • Experience with Cardiomyoplasty
  • Experience with femoral cannulation
  • Experience with IABP
  • Experience with MAZE procedure
  • Experience with Mitral Valve replacement
  • Experience with Pericardial Window
  • Teaching Hospital experience
  • Level II Trauma experience

Preferred

  • CNOR

Clinical Experience

  • Experience with AAA repair, CABG, atrial septal defect repair, cardiomyoplasty, femoral cannulation, IABP, MAZE procedure, mitral valve replacement, pericardial window, LVAD/RVAD
  • Experience with lobe resection, mediastinoscopy, thoracotomy, and video-assisted thoracic surgery

Schedule Notes

  • Weekend call rotation with staff
  • Call rotation with staff
  • Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
  • All RTO, block, and special scheduling requests must be included in the submission

Compliance / Onboarding

  • Driver’s license or state ID required within 48 hours of signing
  • E-Verify or attestation required
  • 7-year background check required
  • Education verification of highest earned degree required
  • NURSYS verification required for all RNs
  • State license primary source verification required
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start
  • Fit mask testing within 1 year of start
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start
  • TB questionnaire required
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
  • 2 clinical references required
  • Employment application/resume required
  • Skills checklist required
  • Photo required for badge

Additional Notes

  • Special equipment includes Impella, Sternal Lock, laser, Da Vinci robot, Stryker camera system, and Storz camera system

Pros

Marigold is polite and professional. She goes above and beyond to ensure the contractor is well informed and has everything needed to be successful. She helped me with onboarding and getting used to the timesheet app and she answers my texts promptly, even after hours. She is a great recruiter liason. Gladys was a super helpful with onboarding and Denise will hook you up with benefits with no trouble at all. Great team to work with.

Cons

Onboarding is somewhat tedious, but they do dot every "i" and cross every T.
