NICU RN
Job Overview
- Travel/contract RN role in Columbus, Ohio
- 13-week assignment
- Day shift: 3x12 hours, 7:00 AM–7:30 PM
- 36 hours per week
Clinical Setting
- Level III NICU
- Cares for neonates from 22 weeks gestation and above
- Focus areas include respiratory distress, glucose management, and care for neonates needing surgery or cardiac interventions
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Ohio
- NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care (1 year of experience)
- NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care experience within the last year
- BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
- NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Competency in cardiovascular dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Proficiency in gastrointestinal feeding methods and management of oral, nasogastric, and nasojejunal tubes
- Expertise in IV therapy, including umbilical artery and vein catheter management
Key Clinical Skills
- Cardiovascular dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Gastrointestinal feeding methods, including oral, nasogastric, and nasojejunal tube management
- Infection control and IV therapy
- Umbilical artery and vein catheter management
- Arterial line management
- Central line care
- Ventilator management, including AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP
- Medication administration for IV vasopressors, surfactants, and steroids
Additional Notes
- Prior experience at Nationwide Children’s Hospital will be given special consideration
- EKG competency exam is not required for all NICU RNs
- Parking is available through multiple permit options at additional cost
