Emergency Room Registered Nurse

Job Overview

• Location: Maryville, Illinois
• Employment type: Travel/Contract
• Shift: 12-hour nights, 19:00–07:00
• Schedule: Every third weekend; maximum 5 days of requested time off
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• First-time travelers: Accepted

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Illinois
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• ED - Emergency Department (1 year of experience)
• ED - Emergency Department experience within the last year
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• Ortho Trauma experience

Clinical Focus

• Emergency department care for all ages, including neonates through geriatrics
• Standard ED procedures
• Dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Blood product administration
• Central line care/management
• Phlebotomy and IV starts
• Continuous IV sedation
• IV vasopressors
• Procedural sedation administration
• CVA, ortho-trauma, head injury, and near-drowning cases
• ABG interpretation
• Isolation precautions

• 2 professional references within 2 years of start
• 7 years of work history verification and application history
• Annual skills checklist
• Background check and required registry/sanction screenings
• Pre-start health documentation, including physical exam, fit testing, TB screening, immunization/titer documentation, and drug screen
• RN orientation testing/competency requirements
