PACU Registered Nurse
Job Overview
- Travel/contract role in Saint Louis, Missouri
- Day shift: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
- No weekends, holidays, or call
- 13-week contract
- Floating may be required within similar procedural pre/post service areas
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Missouri
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- PACU - Post Anesthesia Care (5 years of experience)
- PACU - Post Anesthesia Care experience within the last year
- One completed travel assignment
- ACLS issued by American Heart Association
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- Experience in a(n) Outpatient setting
- Experience in a(n) Inpatient setting
- 5 years of procedural and/or critical care experience
- Interpretation and management of cardiac dysrhythmias
- Moderate sedation recovery experience
- Conscious sedation experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Conscious sedation experience
Clinical Setting
- Pre- and post-procedure care for interventional pulmonology patients
- Procedures include bronchoscopy, thoracentesis, chest tube care, tunneled pleural catheters, and lung biopsies
- May also care for patients undergoing EBUS, thoracoscopy, navigational bronchoscopy, pleural procedures, moderate sedation, ultrasound, and related floor or ICU transfers
Key Skills
- Ambulatory/outpatient and inpatient pre/post care
- Starting IVs
- 12-lead EKG acquisition
- Pre-op assessment and education
- Review of history and physical
- Isolation precautions
- Pain assessment and management
- RASS
- Moderate sedation recovery
Work Environment
- Short-term acute care hospital
- Magnet, teaching, and Level I trauma center
- Navy blue scrubs
