Description

Telemetry RN

Overview

  • Travel assignment in Idaho
  • 13-week contract
  • 12-hour shifts
  • Nights; days are also available
  • Start ASAP

Required Qualifications

  • Active RN license
  • BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
  • 2 years of telemetry nursing experience
  • Cardiac drip experience
  • NIH stroke assessment experience
  • Post-cath recovery experience
  • Chest tube experience

Schedule

  • 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
  • Weekends required
  • Holidays required
  • No block scheduling

Unit Details

  • 27 beds, with 10 more planned
  • Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:4
  • Common patient population includes CHF, NSTEMI, STEMI, stroke, sepsis, diabetes, CAD, renal failure, respiratory failure, pneumothorax, and post-cath lab patients
  • RNs do not titrate drips
  • Telemetry techs are currently on the unit
  • Charge nurse and house supervisor are present and do not take patients
  • Nurse aides are present at a ratio of 1:8/9
  • Respiratory therapy manages CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow equipment
  • Nurses read and document telemetry every 6 hours

Floating

  • Floats to like units and Med/Surg
  • May also float to ICU if experienced

Orientation

  • System onboarding plus 2 orientation shifts

Additional Notes

  • Any clean, well-kept, professional scrub color is allowed
  • Candidate must live outside a 50-mile radius

Pros

Marigold is polite and professional. She goes above and beyond to ensure the contractor is well informed and has everything needed to be successful. She helped me with onboarding and getting used to the timesheet app and she answers my texts promptly, even after hours. She is a great recruiter liason. Gladys was a super helpful with onboarding and Denise will hook you up with benefits with no trouble at all. Great team to work with.

Cons

Onboarding is somewhat tedious, but they do dot every "i" and cross every T.
