Medical Surgical RN Travel/Contract Job

Overview

• Location: Fishersville, Virginia
• Employment type: Travel/Contract
• Shift: Day, 3x12 hours, 7:00 AM–7:00 PM
• Hours per week: 36
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Unit notes: Dedicated Education Unit focused on teaching newly graduated nurses foundational skills during orientation
• Staffing: Ratio 1:6
• Schedule details: Every other weekend, holiday rotation, and floating as needed to cover staffing needs

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Virginia
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Med Surg (2 years of experience)
• Med Surg experience within the last year
• BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• First-time travelers accepted
• Pending license not accepted
• Local candidates not accepted within 50 miles

Additional Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID
• Current application/resume
• 2 professional references
• Skills checklist for the applicable specialty
• Background check and required pre-employment screenings
• Drug screen required before start
• TB screening and questionnaire required
• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Fit mask testing required
• Tdap within 10 years or declination required
• Flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season
• Measles, mumps, rubella, hepatitis B, and varicella immunity/vaccination documentation required
• Influenza and vaccine exemption forms may be required before start if applicable
• Must complete required facility documents and acknowledgements before start

Schedule Expectations

• Must work every other weekend
• Must work assigned holidays based on rotation
• May be required to float to other areas as staffing needs change
