Description

Endoscopy RN

Location

Mineola, New York

Contract

  • 12 weeks
  • Travel/contract assignment
  • Day shift: 6:30 AM–2:30 PM
  • 5 shifts per week
  • Weekends not required
  • Float required
  • Orientation: 22.5 hours

Setting

  • Hospital-based Endoscopy/GI procedural unit
  • Supports Prep and PACU/Recovery coverage
  • Cares for pediatric, adolescent, and adult patients
  • Fast-paced procedural environment

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in New York
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Endoscopy experience within the last year
  • 2 years of endoscopy experience
  • One completed travel assignment
  • Experience in a Critical Care setting
  • ACLS issued by American Heart Association
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association
  • PALS issued by American Heart Association
  • Airway management
  • Recovery from conscious sedation
  • Administering and monitoring conscious sedation
  • Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
  • Emergency-response skills
  • Circulating for procedures
  • Bronchoscopy experience
  • Colonoscopy experience
  • EGD experience

Preferred

  • Pediatric experience
  • EPIC experience

Key Clinical Skills

  • Pre-procedure/prep and PACU/recovery care
  • Airway management
  • Post-anesthesia recovery
  • Conscious sedation administration and monitoring
  • Dysrhythmia interpretation and management
  • Emergency response
  • Starting and maintaining IVs
  • Specimen handling and labeling
  • Circulating for procedures

Pros

Marigold is polite and professional. She goes above and beyond to ensure the contractor is well informed and has everything needed to be successful. She helped me with onboarding and getting used to the timesheet app and she answers my texts promptly, even after hours. She is a great recruiter liason. Gladys was a super helpful with onboarding and Denise will hook you up with benefits with no trouble at all. Great team to work with.

Cons

Onboarding is somewhat tedious, but they do dot every "i" and cross every T.
