Registered Nurse – PICU

Job Overview

  • Travel/contract role in Richmond, Virginia
  • 13-week assignment
  • Rotating schedule between day and night shifts; shifts do not rotate within the same week
  • Local candidates are allowed at the same rate
  • Must work at least 2 holidays

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Virginia
  • PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care (3 years of experience)
  • PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care experience within the last year
  • ACLS issued by American Heart Association
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association
  • PALS issued by American Heart Association
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Experience with Epic

Schedule

  • 36 hours per week
  • 12-hour shifts

Additional Requirements

  • 2 references
  • Resume/application required
  • Government-issued photo ID required
  • Background check required
  • Drug screen required within 60 days of start
  • Physical exam required within 1 year of start
  • TB screening or chest X-ray required
  • Tdap vaccination or declination required
  • Flu vaccination or approved exemption required for applicable start dates
  • Measles, mumps, rubella, and varicella titers required
  • Hepatitis B documentation required
  • Annual TB questionnaire required
  • Annual skills checklist required
  • Color blindness testing required
  • Abuse reporting competency required
  • HIPAA acknowledgement required
  • Orientation modules must be completed by the Friday of orientation week
  • Orientation includes unit-specific testing and competency checks

Pros

Marigold is polite and professional. She goes above and beyond to ensure the contractor is well informed and has everything needed to be successful. She helped me with onboarding and getting used to the timesheet app and she answers my texts promptly, even after hours. She is a great recruiter liason. Gladys was a super helpful with onboarding and Denise will hook you up with benefits with no trouble at all. Great team to work with.

Cons

Onboarding is somewhat tedious, but they do dot every "i" and cross every T.
