Oncology RN
Overview
- Travel/contract role in Saint Louis, Missouri
- 13-week assignment
- Day shift, 5x8 hours, Monday–Friday
- Start date is 3–4 weeks out per compliance tier
- Guaranteed hours
Work Setting
- Short-term acute care hospital
- Magnet and teaching hospital; Level I trauma center
- Primary work area is an oncology infusion/lab setting
- Required to float as needed to other satellite locations in the area
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Missouri
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- 1 year of Registered Nurse experience
- Oncology (1 year of experience)
- Oncology experience within the last year
- One completed travel assignment
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- ACLS issued by American Heart Association
- Ability to access and draw from ports and central venous catheters (CVCs)
- Infusion center nursing skills
- Central line blood draw capability
- Central line and implanted line care
- PICC line care
- Neutropenic precautions knowledge and practice
Key Skills
- Port and central line blood draws and care
- PICC line care
- Recognizing and communicating abnormal lab values
- Strong assessment skills
- IM injections
- Isolation and neutropenic precautions
Schedule Notes
- Shift times rotate as needed
- Typical start times are 7:15 AM, 7:30 AM, or 8:00 AM
- No weekend requirement
- No on-call requirement
