Job Overview

Required Qualifications
- New York State license
- BLS certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Competency exam required for all candidates
- 2 references required
Required Pre-Start Items
- Must clear the state-run Criminal History Form before starting
- Fingerprinting must be completed at orientation on the first day
- Background check requirements include criminal history, county/state searches, sex offender search, education verification, and fingerprinting
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months before start
- Drug test within 1 year of start
- Immunization or immunity documentation for measles, mumps, rubella, hepatitis B, and varicella
- Seasonal flu vaccination or declination
- COVID-19 booster is preferred, not required
Notes
- The criminal history clearance process can take up to 4 weeks
- New fingerprints are needed if there is a gap of 6 months or more between assignments
