Pediatric Respiratory Care Practitioner

Overview

Travel/Contract role in Portland, Oregon
Night shift: 3x12, 19:00–7:30
36 hours per week
13-week contract
No call

Unit / Setting

Supports NICU, PICU, emergency department, and pediatric & adult acute/intermediate care wards

Required Qualifications

Certified Respiratory Therapy - NICU with 2 years of experience
Certified Respiratory Therapy - NICU experience within the last year
ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association
BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support issued by American Heart Association
NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure
Experience working with Neonate or Pediatric patients
Experience with Epic

Preferred Qualifications

EPIC experience

Responsibilities

Provide bedside respiratory care modalities per hospital and departmental guidelines
Provide therapeutic interventions including airway management, therapeutic gases, ventilator management, newborn resuscitation, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation
Perform diagnostic procedures including arterial blood sampling, bedside spirometry, spontaneous ventilatory parameters, and point of care testing
Train new Respiratory Therapists, students, and other healthcare team members
Chart and charge for services provided per policy

Marigold is polite and professional. She goes above and beyond to ensure the contractor is well informed and has everything needed to be successful. She helped me with onboarding and getting used to the timesheet app and she answers my texts promptly, even after hours. She is a great recruiter liason. Gladys was a super helpful with onboarding and Denise will hook you up with benefits with no trouble at all. Great team to work with.

Cons

Onboarding is somewhat tedious, but they do dot every "i" and cross every T.
