Stepdown Cardiac
Overview
- Travel/Contract role in Dayton, Ohio
- 13-week contract
- Night shift: 4x12 hours, 19:00–7:30
- 48-hour contract option available
Unit / Assignment Details
- Advanced Care Unit
- Typical patients include heart failure, chest pain rule out, NSTEMI, post-procedure patients, COPD exacerbation, and drug/ETOH overdose and withdrawal
- Targeted patient ratios are 1:5–6
- Daily average census: 31
- Navy Blue scrubs
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Ohio
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Cardiac Stepdown (1 year of experience)
- Cardiac Stepdown experience within the last year
- Stepdown experience
- Experience with Epic
- IV start capability
- BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
- Must be able to read and interpret strips
- NIH Stroke Certification
- Pass an online EKG tele competency assessment before starting the assignment
- Nurses will be fitted for N95 prior to working on the HRRU unit unless PAPR is offered/needed
- Available to work at minimum every other holiday
- Available to work every other weekend/holiday
Preferred
- ACLS
- Some level 1 or 2 experience
- Travel experience
Floating
- First to float at Premier's discretion
- May float in/out of specialty clusters
- May be assigned a medically appropriate assignment or support the nursing care team of the unit floated to
- May include floating to the ED to care for boarders
- If assigned to MVH, may include floating to main campus (Dayton), south campus (Centerville), and North Campus (Englewood)
Other Notes
- For a 48-hour contract, OT is paid out after 48 hours
- Premier Health reserves the right to cancel 2 shifts due to low census per 13-week contract
- Premier Health reserves the right to cancel the agreement with 2 weeks' notice without fee or fine
- Travelers are not eligible for Premier health employee incentives
- Request RTO with initial submittal; no RTO will be added after the offer
- RTO approval is at the manager's discretion
