Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool
Overview
- Travel/Contract RN role in Washington, DC.
- Start date: ASAP.
- Day or night shifts, 3x12 hours.
- 36 hours per week.
- First-timers accepted.
- Locals accepted.
- Pending license accepted.
- Guaranteed hours: 48.
- No on-call.
- Weekend requirement: every other weekend; blocked weekend scheduling is also open.
- RTO limit: 7 days max; if 1 consecutive week is taken, an extra week must be added to the end of the contract.
Unit / Float Scope
- Based in PICU / CVPICU / NICU.
- May float between NICU, PICU, and CVPICU.
- Ratios: 1:1 or 1:2; if floated to NICU, ratio could be 1:3.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in District of Columbia.
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing.
- 2 years of experience as a Critical Care Float.
- Critical Care Float experience within the last year.
- PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care experience.
- CVPICU experience.
- NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care experience.
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association.
- BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association.
- PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support issued by American Heart Association.
- NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure.
- Pass/fail testing for nursing.
- Medication test/pharmacology competency exam.
- Competency exam.
- Orientation safety manual acknowledgement.
- Photo for badge.
- Employment application.
- Skills checklist.
- 2 professional references dated within the past two years.
Preferred

- Charting system: Cerner.
- Magnet / Teaching / Level Trauma I facility.
- Scrub color: any, but must be child friendly and have no logos.
