Description
American Traveler is hiring a Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool RN with NICU Level III and PICU experience for a night shift position requiring a NJ or Compact license.
Details
- NICU-based float pool with required floating to PICU, Peds, and NBN units
- An appropriate patient assignment based on skill set will be provided when floated
- Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 8:00 AM)
- 37.5 hours per week
- Every other weekend requirement
- Patient ratios vary based on unit, acuity, census and staffing
- Epic EMR experience required
- Patient population includes neonates less than 24-28 weeks gestation
Requirements
- Active NJ or Compact RN license required
- Required certifications: BLS, NRP, PALS
- Minimum 1.5 years of experience required
- Documented NICU Level III and PICU experience in employment history required
- Skills required: IV therapy, arterial line management, central line/implanted line care, UAC/UVC management
- Experience with IV vasopressors, steroids, and surfactants required
- Dysrhythmia interpretation and management skills required
- Ventilator management experience required (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP)
- Experience with feedings (bottle, breast, gavage) and oral/nasogastric/nasojejunal tube placement and management required
- Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome experience required
- Epic charting experience required
Additional Information
- Work in a 56-bed Level III NICU that is a Regional Perinatal Center caring for more than 1,200 premature and ill newborns annually
- PICU provides comprehensive medical and surgical care with full-time pediatric critical care physicians and pediatric subspecialists
- Located within a 597-bed teaching hospital affiliated with Rutgers New Jersey Medical School
- Part of RWJBarnabas Health, New Jersey's largest integrated healthcare system
- Scrub requirement: navy pants with pediatric top
- Winter holiday coverage required: must work or provide on-call coverage for assigned winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's)
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates accepted at the same rate
- Former RWJBH employees (full-time or PRN) must be separated from the system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
